   Nothing feels better than winning your final home match of the season. Going into this tennis match, our tennis team was filled with nerves and was very unsure of what to expect. The match against Vanden was unforgettable for many reasons. Our Lady Mustangs were feeling the stress of losing to start off the tennis match, they realized they weren’t going down without a fight, and came back with the win.

   On Tuesday, the girls varsity tennis team fought for the win. Our ladies went in with nothing but a winning mindset. Our girls tennis team started their match with a losing score of 0-2, putting a lot of stress on their plate. Number one doubles player Adrianna Vree said, “We knew we couldn’t lose our last home game of the season, and we were gonna do whatever it took to get that win,” and she shared that mindset with the entire team.

   After seeing the score, the girls knew exactly what they had to do. They all put the last hour behind them and started to show their determination. The wins and chances of a victory started to increase. By the time the next hour passed, the girls were up 5-3 and already imagining the satisfaction of the triumph in their minds. Megan Mckemie, a singles player said, “The feeling was great, but we knew just because we were winning didn’t mean we should relax”. And they definitely fought till the end on this one.

   This tennis match against Vanden showed what the definition of teamwork was. The girls ended the match with a score of 6-3 and impressed everyone watching. The victory was extra sweet because the last home match was also senior night! The celebration made for a memorable night that was filled with many positive and grateful emotions. The girls tennis team made everyone proud this season. Coach Remy even mentioned that this was the first time Rodriguez beat Vanden in tennis in 12 years! Way to go girls!
