The Lady Mustangs took a win two weeks ago in a game against the Vacaville Bulldogs with the help of Carolyn McKee. The Captain of the Varsity Girls Volleyball carried the team as she pushed through an injury mid-game. McKee fell on her hip during the game but proceeded to play hard despite the bruises that resulted from her fall. She played through all four sets undeterred by her fall and averaged about two kills per set.

With McKee’s past ankle injury, she said that it did hinder her; however, she knew she could come back strong and keep working to get back on her feet. McKee’s persistence and determination ultimately worked out in her favor for both herself and the team. The team won three out of the four sets played in the Vacaville game.

Before Rodriguez’s game against Vanden on Tuesday, October 9th, McKee caught the flu. However, this did not stop her from playing her hardest. She managed to play through her illness and contribute a hopeful and promising role in order to boost her teammates up.

Overall, Carolyn McKee has been able to keep her head up high this season despite all her setbacks. To some, these setbacks may seem disheartening and deterring, but for McKee, they are obstacles to make her game stronger. She has definitely proven her dedication to the sport as well as to her team. Her resilience has been a beneficial influence on the rest of her them. With her good leadership roles and positivity on the court, McKee has been an encouraging force to those around her. She has proven that determination is key when trying to achieve what is important.
