The last few years of tennis have been a success for our lady mustangs, and we expect nothing less this year! Our varsity girls have a very good feeling about the upcoming season and are ready for any challenges headed their way. Singles varsity player, Megan Mckemie, foresees this season as being unforgettable!

From a young age, Megan has played tennis and loved every single minute of it! Megan says, “The biggest impact on my tennis career is my dad, who is also my biggest supporter!”  Throughout her career, Megan’s family has been very supportive and shows her everything she needs to know about tennis. She loves having them around! Megan also mentioned how she used to hate playing so much tennis, but now she loves it because her family convinced her to keep going. They really helped her out!

Megan has had an extensive tennis career thus far and plans to continue it. She said “I have played tennis since I was 7 and can’t stop playing because it’s so fun!”. Megan believes that the best part of playing tennis for 8 years is being surrounded by the teammates she’s had in her career. “The sport of tennis isn’t as fun without your teammates,” she states, “Because they are always so inspirational and want you to do your best! It would not be the same without them!”. Megan had a convincingly good score for tennis and when asked about her secret, she said “I just have fun and pretend its a game!”

Mckemie is looking forward to the rest of this season being amazing! She knows that in sports, if you have fun and don’t worry about what is going on around you, you will most likely win! She hopes this season goes as well as her last, where she won almost all of her games. As this season starts, Megan plans to do nothing short of her best!

She is amazing on the court and in school, as she keeps good grades while trying to manage her time with all the practices, matches, homework, and AP work! Megan is ready to play through and finish this season with great scores and even better grades!
