Rodriguez’s own, Olivia Frenkel (junior),  recently volunteered at a her local food bank where she was able to package and prepare food for those in need. In this time, she learned that “giving back to a community that has given so much” was one of the best things she’s experienced. After completing her time volunteering at the food bank and raising more than $39,000, Frenkel then wrote an essay in which she described her experience at the foodbank, and following as a reward, she won one thousand dollars. With this money she received, Frenkel decided that, “It’s not right to receive money for doing things out of the goodness of your heart” so she donated the reward to charity. Olivia believes that her act of kindness will influence others to do things out of the kindness of their heart and not for the potential reward that follows. As Olivia Frenkel was the one of the few people at Rodriguez High to volunteer at the local food bank, she encourages others to join her in making a change in the community.

Rodriguez High would like to thank Olivia Frankel and others who do selfless acts each day. Your kindness does not go unnoticed and we appreciate all that you do for the community and the world.
